“At the Perfect Time…”
More than once the past few weeks I have been told that a card or little gift I have given to a friend arrived…
“at the perfect time…”
There is no doubt that God’s hand lead the envelopes from my home to theirs…
Encouragement has long been an identified “spiritual gift” of mine…so, while there is no surprise when I hear someone received something after having a hard day etc…there continues to be amazement at God’s love for the details of our lives…that he directs even a card through the postal service…
Recently I created a ‘card box’ for my niece and nephew to encourage them in creating the habit of letting people know that they are thought about, loved, and valuable…
I LOVE and TREASURE getting a thank you card in the mail after their birthdays with a sweet drawing and their signature…
The finished product…
Taking a shoe box,
I covered it in decorative duct tape,
as well as some fun stickers…
On the inside lid are some ‘love’ bible verses found on this website …
They printed out gray-scale for me…
so I traced them out in purple stuck them to a purple strip of paper using a glue stick to adhere the strip (here is hoping it stays attached)…
Inside the box:
-farm animal notecards found in the $1 bin at Michael’s-a box of crayons for both…
-stickers for them to decorate envelopes
-Avery labels with addresses of their relatives, and return labels pre-printed for easy use by a 4 and 7 year old -lastly (of course) stamps
in the end it came out pretty cute and I know the kids will LOVE it!
How can you encourage those around you, and yourself, to follow God’s command to LOVE?
-Who needs their feet washed?
-Who hasn’t been to church in a long time?
-With whom do you work that life is beating up on?
-Who do you need to be vulnerable with?
-Who has encouraged you and might need someone to encourage them?
-Who is sick in your neighborhood?
-Who has GOD laid on your heart?
Cause in my experience when he places someone on my heart and I am obedient to follow…connection, and healing can occur…just remember you may never know the impact…
Carelessly,
April
